Open Close Periods in GL

We need to open the periods to enter the day to day business transactions in any module. so there are periods statuses are shown below.

         Period Status                                   Entry Level                         Posting

         Never Opened                                   Not Allowed                        Not Allowed

         Opened                                              Allowed                               Allowed

         Closed                                               Not Allowed                        Not Allowed     

         Future                                                Allowed                               Not Allowed

         Permanently Closed                          Not Allowed                        Not Allowed

Note:-We should not do Permanently Closed, after that it will not allow re-open the period.

     

      Open the Period

Navigation:-Setup>Open/Close

  Click on the “Find”

Click on the “Open”

Click on the “Yes”

Click on the “Ok”

Verify the Concurrent Program, after complete the concurrent request verify the status.

Navigation:-View>Request>Find

Verify the Period status

Navigation:-Setup>Open /Close

Click on the “Find”

Period Status is “Opened”

Click on the “Open Period”

 Select the Target Period Name from list values “Oct-13”

Click on the “Open”

Note:-It will submit the one concurrent, after completes concurrent programme verify the Period Status.

Periods has been open till “Oct-13”

SELECT * FROM GL_PERIODS

SELECT * FROM GL_PERIOD_STATUSES

'O' for open,

'F' for future enterable,

'C' for closed,

'P' for permanently closed

'N' for never opened
